Musical Friday Everywhere

Dear friends,

Fleetwood Mac are a British-American rock band formed in 1967 in London. Due to numerous line-up changes, the only original member present in the band is its namesake, drummer Mick Fleetwood. Although band founder Peter Green named the group by combining the surnames of two of his former bandmates (Fleetwood, McVie) from John Mayalls Bluesbreakers, bassist John McVie played neither on their first single nor at their first concerts, as he initially decided to stay with Mayall. The keyboardist, Christine McVie, who joined the band in 1970 while married to John McVie, appeared on all but the debut album, either as a member or as a session musician. She also supplied the artwork for the album Kiln House.
The two most successful periods for the band were during the late 1960s British blues boom, when they were led by guitarist Peter Green and achieved a UK number one with "Albatross"; and from 1975 to 1987, as a more pop oriented act, featuring Christine McVie, Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. Fleetwood Macs second album after the incorporation of Buckingham and Nicks, 1977s Rumours, produced four U.S. Top 10 singles (including Nicks song "Dreams"), and remained at No.1 on the American albums chart for 31 weeks, as well as reaching the top spot in various countries around the world. To date the album has sold over 45 million copies worldwide, making it the 4th highest selling album of all time.
The band achieved more modest success in the intervening period between 1971 and 1974, with the line-up including Bob Welch, and also during the 1990s in between the departure and return of Nicks and Buckingham, and in 1998, the departure of Christine McVie. In 1998, selected members of Fleetwood Mac were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band have sold over 120 million albums worldwide with a certified 48,500,000 units sold in the U.S.

2011 Ferrari 599 GTO Review

The new Ferrari 599 GTO Berlinetta V12 is an extreme emphasis on developed a short-term results. The Ferrari 599 GTO is, in fact, the companys fastest road car ever. This is a special limited edition exclusive, in the true tradition of Ferrari, is a totally new concept, although inspired by a production car. Indeed, the Ferrari 599 GTO is based on the 599XX, experimental advanced race car, and can be considered almost like a version of the current route.

The Ferrari 599 GTO is reserved for only 599 customers, seeking the maximum expression of high-performance driving. The Ferrari 599 GTO direct beneficiaries of technology transfer Racing and set a lap record at Fiorano in 124 ".

Fiorano lap time offers only an indication of the potential of this car. Equally important are the technical specifications - 1495kg car 670 hp power to weight ratio is only 2.23 kg / hp, and guarantees from 0-100 km / h acceleration takes only 3.35 "and a top speed of over 335 km / h.

Fundamental to the performance of the GTO is its innovative approach to chassis development for the first time on a production car, so the integration between handling establishment to listen to a level of responsiveness that is close to the border and sophisticated electronic control. The result is the almost complete lack of understeer and a very communicative chassis.

As Ferrari policy, each new Ferrari has new solutions for a street car. Thus, the Ferrari 599 GTO is equipped with the latest, the second generation of the carbon ceramic brakes are lighter and offer better performance, new aerodynamic innovations, such as cakes wheels that increase aerodynamic efficiency and improved cooling brakes and tires developed by Michelin Supersport include a wider front tire for later use. The interface for the car-driver is also new, with the approval of the virtual race engineer (VRE), which provides the driver with immediate feedback on performance.

Ferrari 599 GTO aggressive nature is also reflected in a series of exterior design draws 599XX and a strong voice in the V12.

The GTO (Gran Turismo Omologata) nickname instantly recalls two Ferraris, has entered the collective imagination as symbols of performance. After the 1962 250 GTO, which swept the boards in the GT class racing in 1960 and is now a prized collector car, came the iconic 1984 GTO, making it invented the genre any modern supercar.

Web Special Rapporteur includes photos, videos and interviews about the new car, while an exclusive preview of a small number of Ferrari customers to be held April 14 at the Military Academy of Modena. The public debut of the Ferrari 599 GTO will be held at the Salon International de lAutomobile in Beijing in late April.

Engine and transmission

Ferrari 599 GTO engine is directly derived from the 599XX, however, make the necessary changes in the road going type. It therefore complies with Euro 5 and LEV 2 standards. 5999 cc 65 ° V12 punches from 670 hp at 8250 rpm for torque of 620 Nm at 6,500 rpm and is smooth, continuous running power to redline without losing the flexibility of up to medium and low speeds. This result was obtained working in fluid dynamics and components to reduce internal friction and adoption, among other things, revised the 599XX crankshaft. The car is also a race-type intake system with a new manifold, diffuser-type geometry intake and a short section of suction to improve power delivery at high revs, and reduce losses. To maximize the efficiency of the volume per cylinder, connect the two boxes in front of the interface to compensate for fluctuations in volume.

Thus, the engineers have managed to achieve maximum performance at high speeds. Engine noise inside the vehicle is carefully controlled to balance the intake from the exhaust, which has a 599XX derivatives 6-in-1 manifold.

The Ferrari 599 GTO has it, 60 times more small change and the possibility of multiple downshifts as the 599XX.

Vehicle Dynamics

One of the most significant innovations of the Ferrari 599 GTO is a close correlation between the installation base, which is close to the processing of the border, and investing in electronic controls that have been developed to increase the overall performance.

Because of the first countries in two cars, "the development of the Maranellos engineers work to ensure that these two areas of the car to be fully integrated so as to push the reactivity of the border. The result is, of course, the involvement of superlative guide as well as lap times faster. In addition, new springs and stiffer rear anti-roll bar, the car is another. magnetorheological suspension system generation (SCM2) suspension works with VDC (Vehicle Dynamic Control) and the latest generation of F1-Trac traction control This makes the car reacts much driver input. - in part thanks to a very direct steering ratio - but also very stable under braking, sharper cornering, cornering precision and fast corners.

WEIGHT REDUCTION

The Ferrari 599 GTO inherits much of the development work - the same principles used in Formula 1 - which came into 599XX make a great performance car. Weight reduction is a vital goal and the result was the massive use of composite materials and components made with technologies related to the specifications of the race. The affected areas include the body and the greenhouse (glass aluminum thinner), brakes, transmission and exhaust system. The result is a dry weight of 1495 kg and a power to weight ratio of just 2.23 kg / hp, a very important figure that highlights the performance potential of the GTO.

AERODYNAMICS

Ferrari 599 GTO has benefited significantly from the aerodynamics of the Ferrari engineers and 599XX F1 experience that has allowed to significantly increase the downforce without the dragging effect. Thanks for your solutions are transferred to the track the car road-going version of the GTO to produce 144 kg of downforce of 200 km / h. The car was polished, the front and sides, flat base and the cooling power. In the latter case, the GTO can not rely on the system behavior is improved brake discs and brake pads, donuts and the adoption of the wheel - plate located outside the brake disc ensures that the outlet is hot wheel so close to the body of the car as much as possible to reduce drag.

Work on the nose of the car was to reduce the width of the wake generated by the front and reduce drag. The front spoiler incorporates a separate wing which increases to less support for the front of the car and increases the flow of cooling air oil cooler. On the sides there is a new concept of threshold with a touch sharper edge that improves the efficiency of the central section of the base. The base incorporates a new front in the lower section with broadcasters ahead of the front wheels for maximum support and a rear diffuser double curve again.

Wheels and tires

Thats the difference between the diameter of the front and rear tires have been changed. GTO front tires are 285/30 is now 9.5 "channel 315/35 is 11.5" behind the channel. Ferrari 599 GTO has 20 "wheels. Stiffness is larger than the rear to reduce understeer. These solutions provide greater lateral grip and quick turn

BRAKES

CCM2 a new braking system is lighter and more consistent with the high performance situations. Its coefficient of friction constant ensured that the ABS can be calibrated to very high levels of performance, reducing lap times, with shorter stopping distances and improved braking. Indeed, the Ferrari 599 GTO is an excellent 100-0 kmh stopping distance, only 32.5 meters. And their role in improving the aerodynamics, the Formula 1 derived from the wheel of the monks also improves braking performance by optimizing the cooling of the brakes.

CAR-Driver Interface

The interface for the car-driver was designed to maximize the performance of the car and the driver with a provision of the main controls to ensure absolute efficiency and driver distraction. Manettino Racing also places special emphasis on sports, standards of conduct to be followed in offering the choice of the pilot complete with respect to the configuration of electronic control. The position in the Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano ICE has been replaced by CT-off (traction control off). The GTO is also equipped with custom, more carbon fiber F1 paddles to facilitate the use of high speed driving. In addition, the GTO also virtual race engineer, a system that monitors the status of the vehicle and provides an immediate return of the vehicle driver.

What Is Your Inner Drive

"Passion is a huge prerequisite to winning. It makes you willing to jump through hoops, go through all the ups and downs and everything in between to reach your goal."
-Kerri Walsh
Motivation is part of a persons everyday life. Anything you do has something to do with motivation. If you are hungry, you are motivated to eat. It youre tired, you are motivated to sleep. There are many different factors that can influence your motivation and your motivation can naturally change overtime. Every person is motivated by different things. Motivation affects every part of your performance. Cheadle says," When your level of motivation is low, it can do many things. Affect your desire to train, be a strain on your relationships making it difficult to communicate with your coaches and teammates, knock you off course, make you feel like you cant handle the obstacles you encounter, cause you to barely have enough energy to go through the motions in practice, stunt your creativity, affect how you feel about yourself as an athlete, and affect your enjoyment of the sport." (Cheadle 28) These are all the very things that make athletes want to participate in their sport, and with lack of motivation, it makes it harder for athletes to compete or participate in these activities. Cheadle explains that in sports, athletes constantly get the romanticized message that if they have enough love for the game, they can overcome anything. Motivation is often oversimplified into terms like passion and heart, when in fact there are many factors that contribute to an athletes level of motivation. (Cheadle 29) Sometimes athletes feel like they are extremely motivated to train, and other times it is the last thing they want to do. Having times of low motivation is really normal, but athletes should figure out what is going on because even though it may be normal, but not wanting to train or being motivated is not something that you should just push aside or sweep under the rug.
Many things influence which direction people focus their efforts in. There are two sources of motivation according to Cheadle. Internal motivation and external motivation. Internal motivation is the desire that comes from inside of you. External motivation is the motivation that comes from the outside of you. Internal motivation is your "inner drive" or your love and passion for what you do. This is really what makes your sport meaningful to you. External motivation is when you are influenced to do something by things that are outside of you. You might participate for external rewards, winning trophies, making friends, etc. External motivations are the reasons that you play/compete other than just the pure joy of participating.
Cheadle has helped me understand more that just having passion and liking a sport will not ultimately reach an athletes desired outcome. Motivation and having the desire to work hard and get better is what will help you be successful, and people cant just hope for something good to happen if they dont put time and effort into it. Having a strong inner drive is very good because it can help turn disappointments into positive outcomes instead of negative ones. Whenever I am having bad days or bad games, I have been much more capable of turning my game around by getting my head right. I know that I did something bad and it had a negative impact on the game, but there isnt anything I can do about it and I have to try and focus on the next play because that is what really matters.

What motivates you when you wake up every day and how does it help you achieve your goals?

My Magical Shoes

Dearest friends,

I meant to write to you about this adorable shoes a very long time ago! When my friend, Ioana, was visiting me and my awesome fiancee in August, we also went for some girly shopping sprees :) We went to House and I bumped into these adorable summer shoes that were so cheap that they were yelling for my help, to get them off the shelve and take them to the counter, buy them and take them home happy :) Which I did!
They have this adorable blue inside with white dots and on the heel you have a heart sign <3
I must admit I wore these shoes a lot since then, and I know/think you seen me in them :p Here and here  :)
And I must say they are not the first choice I would have had ;))) but they are really comfortable and I can barely feel them :) My feet are happy and I did not have one blister since I wore them first time! And that does not happen very often, as I do have a large number in shoe size for a lady... I do not even wanna think about the wedding shoes... that will be insane to search for!

**I wrote this email out of love and no one payed me for it!**

Thoughts Upon Being Comfortable

Dear friends,

Topic of today on Blogtember is: "Friday, September 20: React to this term: comfort. "

Oh! Comfort is such a vast term and being comfortable is a topic I could talk for hours. It has so many sides and implications... Being comfortable with yourself, being comfortable with strangers, being comfortable with your friends, being comfortable with your fiancee/wife/husband, being comfortable as you are - where you are, staying or getting out of your comfort zone... Oh! The Horror! The Pain! The Suffering!...

Being comfortable is something more than a state of mind... somehow you need to get yourself in balance with your inner self and the world that surrounds you - from people around you to place your are passing through, to things you interact with on a daily basis (or less often).

I am over a quarter of a century yet still I have not figured out how you can maintain yourself calm and peaceful and zen all the time. Being a happy bumblebee 24/7 seems so very hard to do. Somedays I managed to make it for a full day - but not very often and that saddens me as it makes my fiancee sad too... It is complicated as the way you are behaving will also influence the attitude of the people around you and even though you will try to fake it they will still feel it - some more, some less as it depends on how good you are at hiding your feelings. I - for one - lack this extra point in the survival chain and all my feelings are visible on my face... The only good (and bad at the same time) thing is the fact that people will not dare approach me :) - I can become quite a fierce lioness when really pissed...

There are a lot of thing that make me calm or give me comfort or that are comfortable to me - here is a short list... I mean I will try to make it as short as I can :) I promise ;)
  • A warm hug & kiss from my fiancee
  • Calls from my family (especially from my Granny, Mum and Sister)
  • Having a cup of choco in a rainy day
  • Going out with my fiancee to our favourite place
  • Having long hot showers while listening to the music on my phone
  • Being able to check my email and Facebook on the phone
  • Taking pictures when I go out for a stroll with my awesome fiancee
  • Warm Autumn days that feel like summer but are much more colored
  • Short 1day - 1 weekend trips with my adorable fiancee (e.g. Warsaw and Vienna)
  • Having a good (and huge :p) cup of mint tea in my fav cup (gift from cute fiancee)
  • Meeting new people through my blog :)
  • Reading (and re-reading) one of the books I like/love
  • Re-watching for the 1000 time LOTR or Star Wars
  • Warming up in fuzzy socks and huge sweaters in which I feel like a giant teddy bear
  • Buying gifts for the one I love - friends and family
  • Having old friends over for a couple of days and acting as city guide :p
and many many many other things like "whiskers on kittens, bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens" :)

Comfortable VS. Too Comfortable In A Relationship :)

Hope you enjoyed todays post ;) See you at the next one :)

P.S. And get your lazy arse out of your Comfort Zone! THERE is where the real magic happens and the real world and the real emotions begin. Experiment! Try and if you do not succeed at the first try, try again! Every big discovery was always based on multiple failures ;)

Its The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year

Dear friends,

I know it isnt Christmas already but I cant help it! When December comes all I can think is Christmas, presents, snow, hot chocolate and making people I love smile :) Is that bad?! I think not!
Now I hate lists but once in a while they come in handy so you will remember the things you need to do/buy and around this season they truly do wonders ;)
And when I found this lovely Christmas To Do List  I could not help smiling :) I hope this will make you smile as well, my dear friends :)
Now what we need to make sure in this festive holiday is that we do not transform ourselves into Scrooges or Grinchs and steal away Christmas. Now I know that for some of you Christmas is all about presents and Santa Claus and Christmas tree and carols and pudding and mistletoe... but in fact the thing we forget each year is the fact that Christmas is a season of love. Why Love?! Well hello there, young lad/lass... but I think you forget yourself! Christmas is prolonged name from Christ and guess what?! Christ was born and we are celebrating his coming on this earth. And for sure we should be happy about that!
Now I know some of you do not believe in God - or are of other faith - and I respect that and believe that everyone is entitled to his/her own opinion. But sometimes it is hard to see how this time of year - the most wonderful time of the year, as the song says... - falling into the hands of time and age... People working around to get more money to spend on the presents (be it even for the ones they love!) that will never be enough. You will never have the newest and fanciest toy as something better will come up! Even on Christmas Day! And let us say you will buy the latest iPhone for your boy and on Christmas Day you find out that they just released the new model... bummers! now what?! And what will happen if his friend from school will have something better (as his/her parents can afford more than you do?!)... Jealousy and hate... bottling up for no reason... and what do we truly need? Do you need that iPhone? Do you need that computer game? Do you need that latest model of sports car? Or do you just wish to be on top of the world and hip and trendy and cool, like the others?
I prefer my Decembers - and of course my Christmas - quiet, next to the ones I love. Listening carols (and maybe even singing them, if I am in the right mood, with the right people...) and sitting by the fire... sipping a hot choco with maybe a few marshmallows on top... decorating the Christmas tree and being happy that I have my family and my fiance close by... watching the snow fall down and feeling snowflakes melt in my open palm... maybe even doing an angel in the snow or making a Snowman and running home fast to get warm... watching Love Actually (perfect movie for anytime, especially Christmas) or maybe doing a Harry Potter marathon... I think that it is either I am getting older or I am getting wiser (or both, or none) but I feel no need for presents this year... and it feels odd!
“I wonder if the snow loves the trees and fields, that it kisses them so gently? And then it covers them up snug, you know, with a white quilt; and perhaps it says "Go to sleep, darlings, till the summer comes again.”

Dance The Day Away

Dear friends,

A while ago I was invited by my good friend Magda - who was my witness at my civil wedding - to go with her to see her mum dancing to period music. Immediately I have imagined people dancing as in the scenes from Pride and Prejudice and I jumped in to say yes. On the 25th of January this year, me and my lovely polish friend jumped into a bus and took off for Nowy Targ, where the dancing was about to take place. Nowy Targ is aproximately a hour and a half away from Krakow and we had beautiful scenery to look at as it goes through the hills and mountains and it was freshly covered with snow. We got there in a nick of time - although her mum performed once in the morning we catched her in the afternoon reprise too. But what I was was something totally different than I have expected!
I had just landed into the middle of the 39th Prof. Marian Wieczysty Cup - The National Dance Competition, gathering pairs from all over Poland!
Let me quote from a presentation I found online for you ;)
"The numbers speak for themselves: over 600 pairs take part in the Prof. Marian Wieczysty Cup National Dance Competition. The event, for over a quarter of a century held in January to commemorate the anniversary of the death of its founder (21 January 1987), enjoys unabated popularity.
The competition’s originator, a dancer and outstanding educator, created the competition’s formula back in the 1970s, basing it around football tournaments. After his passing, the event has been run by artistic director Andrzej Golonka; it features dancers split into age groups: juniors (14-15 years old) and 15 and over. They face one another in standard dances (English waltz, Viennese waltz, tango, foxtrot and quickstep) and Latin American dances (samba, rumba, chacha, pasodoble and jive).
The main event is accompanied by the National Polish Dance Competition and meetings for teachers, instructors and anyone fascinated by dance. Nowy Targ hosts the Prof. M. Wieczysty Cup National Polish Dance Competition in the Hobby and Senior categories."
We got there around 1-2 PM and we stayed until around 7-8 PM and I still cannot figure out when the time passed by... It was lovely! I remember being little and watching people dance and sometimes being envious for that as it seems to me that I have 2 left legs - I cannot dance in pairs unless I am leading, which truly disturbes me and my awesome other half...
As you will figure out quick, this was my fav pair - maybe also due to her dress...
Youve gotta dance like theres nobody watching,
Love like youll never be hurt,
Sing like theres nobody listening,
And live like its heaven on earth.

This lady really knew how to move, even though the lad was really creepy...
All in all I must admit I was pleasantly surprised and I have danced the day away with my friend :) Thank you so much again Magda for taking me there and giving me the oportunity to see all these lovely and talented people dancing. I loved the dresses - I think you already figured out, by watching the pictures, which was my personal fav :) - I loved the music - the brilliant remixes - I loved seeing Magdas mum in action, dancing the standard dances... It was a day well spend! I am just sorry it took me a while to go through all the pictures from that day in order to do these collages, but you will forgive that of me, will you not?! :)

** I was not payed in any way to do this post but I did it with all my heart and I believe everyone should watch live at least once in their life a dancing contest - it made me think of Dirty Dancing ;)))  in a odd way... **

Yours truly,
A LadyBug that loves music & dances
